Edo Security Corps Rescue Abducted Teenager
By Afolabi Nelson
Members of the Edo State Security Corps in Fugar, Etsako East Local Government Area, have rescued a teenage girl who was kidnapped last week by armed herders along Fugar farm road while returning from the farm.
The victim spent five days in captivity before being freed near the Ajaokuza railway in Agenebode. Some of the suspected kidnappers were also arrested.
A viral video showed her rescue and confirmed she had been held in the forest for five days. A vigilante involved in the operation said the team combed the forest and engaged the abductors in a shootout before they escaped.
Police spokesperson Musa Yamu could not be reached for comment.
