Fire Destroys Petrol Station and Properties in Saki

A sudden fire on Monday destroyed a petrol station, a pickup van, and other valuables at Ago-Omoluabi area in Saki, Oyo State.

Witnesses said the blaze caused panic as petrol attendants, residents, and passersby ran for safety. Thick smoke rising into the sky drew more people to the scene.

Attempts by residents to control the fire failed until firefighters arrived and stopped it from spreading to nearby buildings.

The Governor’s Special Adviser on Fire Reform and Chairman of the Fire Services Agency, Moroof Akinwande, confirmed the incident, noting that no lives were lost. He urged the public to always keep fire extinguishers handy, especially at petrol stations, and praised the police and other security agencies for their quick response.
