The Governing Council of the Federal University, Oye-Ekiti (FUOYE) has appointed Professor Joshua Ogunwole, an expert in Soil Ecosystem studies, as the new Vice Chancellor.
Ogunwole, who currently serves as the Deputy Vice Chancellor in charge of Strategic Partnerships, Research, Innovation, and Linkages, will take over in February from Professor Abayomi Fasina as the university’s fifth substantive VC.
According to a statement by the university’s Public Relations Officer, Mr. Foluso Ogunmodede, the appointment was approved during a council meeting chaired by Senator Victor Ndoma-Egba (SAN), the Pro-Chancellor and Chairman of Council.
Ndoma-Egba expressed satisfaction with the transparent selection process and called on all university stakeholders to support the new VC and work together for the institution’s development.
