Agriculture Ministry Partners Azleems Global on Workplace Values and Ethics Workshop

The Federal Ministry of Agriculture and Food Security, in partnership with Azleems Global Investment, organized a workshop in Abuja on “Managing Workplace Emotions, Attitude, Values, and Ethics to Drive Sustainable Agriculture.”

The training brought together officers from Grade Levels 07 to 12 under the Ministry’s Culture Change Management Initiative, aimed at improving emotional intelligence, professionalism, and ethical behavior in line with the Federal Civil Service Strategy and Implementation Plan (2021–2025).

Representing the Permanent Secretary, Dr. Marcus Ogunbiyi, Assistant Director (Training) Alhaji Hamza Musa encouraged participants to apply the lessons to promote service excellence.

The workshop, led by Dr. Oluwabamidele Kogbe recipient of the Head of Civil Service EPIC Award featured sessions on EPIC values (Efficiency, Productivity, Incorruptibility, and Citizen-Centred Service). Other facilitators included Mrs. Nancy Usman, Uche Kene-Okoye, Mrs. Funmi Salawu, and Mr. Saidu Ibrahim.

Participants were trained on topics such as workplace emotions, performance-based management, and using digital tools like Artificial Intelligence and ServiceWise GPT for research and policy writing. The sessions emphasized innovation, ethics, and data-driven decision-making for better service delivery.

In their communiqué, participants praised the Ministers, Permanent Secretary, and Human Resources Department for supporting staff training and reforms. They recommended extending similar workshops to all staff levels and establishing an Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) to promote staff well-being and mental health.
