Funke Akindele Says New Film “Behind The Scenes” Was Inspired by Divine Instruction

Award-winning filmmaker and actress Funke Akindele has revealed that her upcoming December release, Behind The Scenes, was inspired by a divine message.

Speaking at the FilmOne end of year showcase, Akindele said she had planned to produce a sequel to her hit movie A Tribe Called Judah, but she kept receiving spiritual guidance to drop the idea.

She explained that even after writing four different scripts and considering collaborations, she continued to feel led to make Behind The Scenes instead.

According to her, the idea for the film came from a single relatable scene that grew into a full story reflecting real life experiences.

Akindele described the project as deeply emotional and relevant, adding that many people will connect with its message and themes.
