“I Will Never Retire From Music” – Terry G Vows
By Hellen Ayodeji
Veteran Afrobeats singer Gabriel Oche Amanyi, better known as Terry G, has declared that he will never retire from music.
The 39-year-old made the vow while responding to critics who accused him of chasing clout on social media.
Taking to his X (formerly Twitter) handle, Terry G wrote:
“I fully embrace being seen as an upcoming artist. You only become a legend when you retire and I’m never retiring. So if you catch me chasing clout, let me be.”
Terry G, who pioneered the Street-hop sound in the 2010s with hit singles like Free Madness, Sangalo, Akpako Master, and Run Mad, emphasized that music remains his lifelong passion.
The eccentric hitmaker is currently staging a comeback, recently teaming up with singer Victony on a new single titled Tanko.
