The Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) has approved a final register of 2,802,790 eligible voters for the Anambra Governorship Election set for Saturday, November 8, 2025.

INEC said it has finalized plans to deploy 24,000 personnel and election materials to 5,718 polling units, 326 ward collation centres, 21 local government collation centres, and the state collation centre in Awka.

Speaking at the Peace Accord signing ceremony organized by the National Peace Committee (NPC) in Awka, INEC Chairman Prof. Joash Amupitan reaffirmed the commission’s commitment to tackle vote-buying and ensure credible polls. He warned that anyone trying to undermine the election would face the full weight of the law.

He added that voters should expect better logistics and improved result management. Amupitan also urged political parties, candidates, and their supporters to respect the peace accord and promote calm, noting that peaceful conduct is vital for a credible and successful election.
