Olubadan to Promote Six Chiefs on Otun Line
By Afolabi Nelson
Barring any last-minute changes, six high and senior chiefs on the Otun Olubadan line will be promoted to their next ranks on Friday.
The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Rashidi Ladoja, will perform the traditional decoration with the akoko leaf to confirm their promotion. The exercise follows vacancies created after Oba Ladoja’s ascension as the 44th Olubadan of Ibadanland.
Those to be promoted include Oba Eddy Oyewole, Oba Kola Daisi, Oba Hamidu Ajibade, Oba Adebayo Akande, Senior Chief Lekan Alabi, and Senior Chief Kola Babalola. Their new titles will reflect the next positions in the Olubadan hierarchy.
The elevation ceremony will hold at the new Olubadan Palace, Oke-Aremo, in Ibadan North LGA, marking the first traditional ceremony to be conducted by Oba Ladoja since his enthronement on September 26, 2025.
